Volunteer Appreciation 2018
Volunteers are essential to the day-to-day operation at OCS. This year we decided to celebrate our volunteers by having a Mardi Gras themed luncheon. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers that help make OCS feel like home.
In memory of Jacqui Willis, 1946-2017
Jaqui Willis was the consummate volunteer. She served on our Board of Trustees for over 20 years, more than any other community member; her tenure covered over one third of the time our organization has been in existence.
Jaqui was a committed Board Member with a deep understanding of this community. She formed the intersection of several of the complex circles we all know and appreciate as Oberlin. It is those circles that draw us to Oberlin. Jaqui navigated those circles probably better than anyone.
Oberlin Community Services makes a significant difference in the lives of Oberlin residents as well as those beyond our city limits. Our name is Oberlin Community Services. The first word in our title is Oberlin. The second word is Community. The third word is Service.
Jacqui was about all three words. She lived out her commitment to Oberlin, to Community, and to Service. And she will continue to live on in our hearts as we carry on in this community we call home. She will be missed.
We have established an Oberlin Back-to-School school supply drive as a tribute to Jacqui. To donate or find out more, please contact Brittany Lovett, Grants and Events Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
