    Ages 3-5. The Lorain County Early Learning Center is a Pre-K learning experience for children whose parents would like them to receive a developmentally appropriate learning experience from quality licensed, early childhood education professionals to assure readiness for Kindergarten. All handicapped and non-handicapped children are welcome to be enrolled.

    Ages 0-5 & pregnant women. Head Start, the best known and most successful national poverty program, was originally implemented in 1966 to help break the cycle of poverty and promote school readiness. The Head Start program provides grants to local public and private non-profit and for-profit agencies to provide comprehensive child development services to economically disadvantaged children and families, with a special focus on helping preschoolers develop the early reading and math skills they need to be successful in school.

    Ages 18mo-5yrs. This program fosters “independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners” using the engaging and acclaimed Creative Curriculum. Focusing on various areas of children’s development the children who participate in this program are offered a constructive and creative environment in which to explore their environments.

    St. Joseph’s School

    Grades Pre-K-8. St. Joseph’s School is a Catholic school located about an hour outside of Oberlin. The school’s mission to help students apply the gospel’s message to their daily lives while growing in knowledge and serving others. St. Joseph’s emphasizes religion and service as a crucial aspects of the students’ learning.

Rated excellent by the state of Ohio, Oberlin is the only school district in the state authorized to deliver all three levels of the International Baccalaureate, Pre-K through 12th grade. The district includes four schools: Eastwood Elementary School (preschool, all-day kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes), Prospect Elementary School (3rd- 5th grade classes), Langston Middle School (6th-8th grade classes), and Oberlin High School (9th-12th grade classes with additional access to the Lorain County Joint Vocational School located in Oberlin).
